The Santa Ana School Board recently honored two parents as the 1999-2000 District Parent of the Year when two of the nominees tied for first place.
Bernarda Espinal, who has a child at Washington Elementary, and Patty Klioumis, whose child attends Jim Thorpe Fundamental Elementary, were chosen from 56 nominated parents.
The winners were selected by a committee of administrators, community members and parents.
