Andy Roland of Glendale College defeated Ron Gonzalez of Southwestern, 6-3, 6-0, at Ventura College and advanced to the round of 32 in the Men’s Community College Singles Division.
Scott Patterson of Glendale advanced with a 1-6, 6-1, 6-1 victory over Peter Mayer of Foothill.
Jerry Godfrey of Pierce and Quac Ly and Rangga Prayudah of Ventura also advanced.
In the Women’s Division, Nanor Dekermenjian of Glendale defeated Zohreh Sadeghi of Mt. San Antonio, 6-0, 6-0, and Stephanie Burdette of Moorpark beat Brittany Keeler of Fresno City, 6-1, 6-3.
Mitza Humaira of Moorpark and Jenny Underwood of Ventura also advanced.
Stephanie Schroeder of Ventura advanced in singles and doubles, winning her first-round singles match, 6-0, 6-2, then teaming with Underwood to win at Cabrillo Racquet Club.
