Waldman Won’t Seek Assembly Seat

Stuart Waldman said Tuesday he is dropping out of the race for the seat held by Assembly Speaker Bob Hertzberg (D-Sherman Oaks), after Hertzberg named him as his chief of staff.
Hertzberg, who is required by term limits to give up his seat next year, had endorsed Andrei Cherny in the race for the 40th Assembly District.
Hertzberg praised Waldman’s previous service as his field representative, a job Waldman quit to campaign for the Assembly seat.
“Stuart Waldman helped build this operation, and he has the trust and confidence of people throughout the San Fernando Valley,” Hertzberg said.
