Norman H. Wright; Animator, Writer for Disney Productions

Norman Hall Wright, 91, the last surviving writer who worked on Disney’s fabled “Fantasia,” died July 21 in Dana Point.

Wright, educated in drama and motion pictures at USC, began his long career as an animator for Walt Disney Productions. He later became a writer, producer and director. In 1940 he developed the story of “The Nutcracker Suite” sequence for “Fantasia.”

The son of author Harold Bell Wright, he wrote his own children’s book, “Chip, Chip,” and co-founded a museum in his father’s honor in Branson, Mo.
