U.S. Rep. Brad Sherman (D-Sherman Oaks) and County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky gave their support Tuesday to a plan to eliminate sightseeing flights from Van Nuys Airport to help reduce noise in surrounding neighborhoods.
In a minority report of the Part 150 Steering Committee, they were joined by Los Angeles Councilwoman Cindy Miscikowski in recommending expansion of a curfew for jets from 10 p.m. to 9 a.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Currently, the curfew is 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.
