Texas Law Firm Hired in Developer Suit

Supervisors on Tuesday approved the hiring of a Texas law firm to represent Orange County in a bankruptcy case involving former developer Kathryn G. Thompson, whom the county sued for $1 million for defaulting on a loan.
In March, the county sued Thompson, who had moved to Kansas City, Mo., to force her to repay more than $1 million outstanding from a 1993 construction loan made to her company.
Thompson has since moved to Texas, where she has filed for bankruptcy, county officials said.
