Roy Lassiter scored on a penalty kick in injury time to give the Kansas City Wizards to a 2-2 tie with the Colorado Rapids in front of 9,342 on Sunday at Denver.
The penalty was called for an inadvertent hand ball off a corner kick by defenseman Marcelo Balboa.
Lassiter rifled the shot past goalie Scott Garlick for his first penalty-kick goal this season.
Colorado (5-9-8) wasted a two-goal effort by John Spencer. The Wizards improved to 9-10-3.
