A Sylmar man pleaded not guilty Monday to charges that he killed his 19-year-old daughter and 8-year-old grandson last month, the district attorney’s office said.
Claude Wright, 60, is accused of fatally shooting his daughter Elizabeth, a college student who was home on summer break, and grandson Kyle, the son of another daughter, at the family’s home July 12.
He then shot himself but survived a bullet wound in the head.
The retired Air Force veteran was discovered on the floor of his home, along with the two bodies, by his wife, Helen Wright.
He had called her at work before shooting himself and told her to come home.
The motive for the killings is not clear.
