A Panorama City woman reported missing by her husband was found dead in her car Sunday night in the Shadow Hills area, police said.
Nidia Gustavo, 36, had gone out with friends Saturday and failed to return home as expected, said Lt. Tim Moss of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Devonshire Division. Her husband reported her missing.
At 7:15 p.m. Sunday, highway workers found Gustavo’s smashed 1994 Nissan on the shoulder of the northbound Hollywood Freeway near Sheldon Street, Moss said. The woman was found dead inside.
“She probably fell asleep” at the wheel, Moss said. “There doesn’t appear to be foul play.”
