Land Seizure Program to Wrap Up Phase One

The government plans to complete the first phase of its land seizure program in two weeks, and white farmers whose properties have been targeted will have to leave immediately, the state-owned Sunday Mail reported.
“The first phase of the fast-track land resettlement program is expected to be completed in the next 12 days,” the newspaper said, citing an interview with Agriculture Minister Joseph Made.
“Commercial farmers still staying on land gazetted for resettlement are required to immediately vacate the properties to allow new settlers to move in,” the Sunday Mail report quoted Made as saying.
