Cause of Jet Collision Is Under Investigation

Investigators were at work preserving evidence at the site where two Air Force training planes crashed, killing one Italian pilot and injuring two others.
Two T-38A Talons from Sheppard Air Force Base collided Friday during a NATO training session and crashed about 300 yards apart. The pilots are Italian members of the Euro NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training program.
The dead pilot was identified as 2nd Lt. Marco Tosi. Capt. Marco Pojer and 2nd Lt. Paolo Papi, who were both in the second plane, were in good condition at Wilbarger General Hospital in Vernon.
