Body Found Behind High School Identified

Police have identified a man’s body found behind a high school in Rolling Hills on Wednesday morning.
A high school employee found the bullet-riddled body of Juan Vasquez Mercado, 21, of South Gate in a drainage ditch in the 100th block of Crest Road near Crenshaw Boulevard, said Sheriff’s Deputy Rich Pena. Detectives said the homicide may be gang-related.
