From Staff and Wire Reports
Teachers and the Santa Ynez Valley Union School District have reached a tentative agreement on a three-year contract. Terms of the pact, which the school board must approve, were withheld pending ratification.
Teachers were reportedly seeking a 6.9% raise, and the district offered 4%.
If approved, it will be the first written contract between teachers and the district, which has 1,100 students and a $6-million budget. Previous salary agreements were based on a handshake.
