No-Contest Plea for Probation Officer

A Lancaster probation officer pleaded no contest Friday to charges that he stalked a former girlfriend and tried to extort money from her.
George Wilbur Griffith Jr., 55, is to be sentenced Jan. 14 to one year in jail and five years’ probation under a plea agreement. He also is expected to be ordered to stay away from the woman.
Griffith worked as a night supervisor for six youth camps run by the L.A. County Probation Department.
