Deputies Take CBS Tape, Camera During Arrest

Authorities seized a CBS camera and videotape during the arrest of a man who had agreed to create a video diary for a newsmagazine involving the murders of racing legend Mickey Thompson and his wife, Trudy.
CBS News spokeswoman Sandy Genelius said Friday that the equipment was taken by Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies during the arrest in Dana Point on Thursday of Michael Goodwin on suspicion of killing the Thompsons. The unnamed man had been videotaping Goodwin’s arrest. Genelius said the network wanted the equipment back.
But Los Angeles Detective Mark Lillienfeld said the camera would be held as evidence.
