In “U.S. Acquires Large Private Redwood Grove” (Dec. 14) there was a brief mention of Dillonwood Grove being added to Sequoia National Park. This is a momentous occasion, preserving a superb grove of giant sequoias. It was Save the Redwoods League that arranged this purchase. Funding came not only from congressional appropriation and major donor gifts but also the many thousands of Americans from every state who contributed to this effort.
It is truly a gift of nature to this and future generations.
