A former rookie San Francisco police officer has been charged with raping two teenage girls after telling them he was working undercover.
Joe Alvarez, 30, has pleaded innocent to 12 felony charges. He is being held in lieu of $1-million bail.
He has been accused of picking up the girls, talking to them for a while, then forcibly keeping them in the car.
He allegedly showed the girls his gun and told them they could be arrested for prostitution.
The first alleged attack happened in July, just months after Alvarez had graduated from the Police Academy.
