El Toro 40, No. 9 Santa Margarita 33--Carrie Twaddell had eight points, 12 rebounds and seven blocks for El Toro (15-6).
In the Lynwood boys’ basketball tournament:
No. 1 Mater Dei 74, Los Alamitos 47--Tournament MVP Cedric Bozeman had 21 points, 12 rebounds and six assists in the title game for Mater Dei (23-2).
In South Coast League boys’ soccer:
No. 1 Dana Hills 2, Trabuco Hills 1--Matt DuHadway’s decisive goal came in the 52nd minute for host Dana Hills (19-1-3, 7-0-1).
In Golden West League girls’ soccer:
Ocean View 4, Santa Ana 0--Iris Ma scored two goals as Ocean View (5-0-1 in league) took over first place from Santa Ana (5-1-0).
In the Garden Grove League wrestling finals:
Torres wins--Blind wrestler Ruben Torres (189) of Santiago was upper-weight MVP, pinning Garden Grove’s Francis Ngo in 3:30. Josh Martinez (103) of Los Amigos won by pin in 1:35 and was most valuable lower-weight wrestler.
In the Pacific Coast League finals:
University takes title--University won seven classes, highlighted by Alberto Gamboa (160) pinning Corona del Mar’s Ryan Green in 1:58.
In the Sea View League finals:
Laguna Hills wins--David Coles (135) and Mike Brown (152) were among seven champions for the Hawks (209.5 points). Irvine (192.5) was second.
