Melody Johnson tied her career-high with 23 points as No. 24 Arizona State defeated UCLA, 78-60, at Tempe, Ariz., to take sole possession of first place in the Pac-10.
Johnson made all 10 of her field goals as the Sun Devils (18-7, 10-3) built a 26-point lead in the second half.
The Bruins (3-20, 2-10) lost their seventh consecutive game despite Kristee Porter’s 16 points and Michelle Greco’s 15.
