No. 23 Arizona State Outlasts Arizona

Cian Carvalho scored six of her 10 points in overtime as No. 23 Arizona State beat Arizona, 70-67, at Tucson.
Betsy Boardman added 16 points and Amanda Levens 14 for the Sun Devils, who completed a season-series sweep of the Wildcats for the first time since 1993. Arizona State improved to 19-7 overall and 11-3 in the Pacific 10 Conference.
It was the first home loss in 14 games for Arizona (18-8, 8-6), which had won six consecutive conference games at McKale Center.
The win kept Arizona State half a game ahead of Washington in the Pac-10. The Huskies (18-7, 11-4) defeated Stanford, 95-87, on Saturday. The Cardinal is 15-9, 9-5.

Plenette Pierson had 24 points and 12 rebounds as No. 15 Texas Tech (21-5, 12-3) avenged a home loss two weeks ago with a 76-60 victory over No. 22 Texas (19-10, 7-8) in a Big 12 game at Austin, Texas. . . . Britt Hartshorn scored 19 points for No. 16 Colorado (20-6, 11-4) in a 74-56 Big 12 victory over Kansas State (12-14, 2-13) at Boulder, Colo. . . . Sheila Lambert scored 22 points to lead No. 24 Baylor (19-7, 8-7) to a 77-57 win over Nebraska (12-16, 4-11) in a Big 12 game at Lincoln, Neb.
