South County Soccer Showdown Postponed

The showdown between the county’s No. 1- and No. 2-ranked girls’ soccer teams was postponed Thursday because of rain and poor field conditions.
Top-ranked Capistrano Valley will host second-ranked Mission Viejo on Jan. 22 in a South Coast League game.
“There is no way we could play,” Capistrano Valley Coach Jack Peterson said. “Our field is a disaster.”
By the time they meet, the rankings probably will have changed. Mission Viejo (7-1-4, 1-0) defeated Dana Hills, 4-1, Tuesday while Capistrano Valley (8-1-3, 0-0-1) tied San Clemente, 2-2.
