Woods Will Play at Torrey Pines

Defending champion Phil Mickelson learned Wednesday that Tiger Woods had committed to play in the Buick Invitational next month at Torrey Pines Golf Course in La Jolla.
But the news didn’t seem to faze Mickelson, who ended Woods’ six-tournament winning streak last year by fending off Woods’ charge in the final round at Torrey Pines.
“I understand Tiger is coming back,” joked Mickelson, who defeated Woods by four strokes. “I really respect that. The guy can take a beating and come back for more.”
The Buick Invitational is Feb. 8-11.
