Sylmar Man Dies After Being Shot

A 20-year-old Sylmar man died Sunday after being shot and then flipping his car in Pacoima, authorities said.
Andres Escobar was shot at least once in the torso with a semiautomatic handgun, then drove a relative’s Toyota Camry into a parked car in the 10600 block of El Dorado Avenue about 2 a.m., flipping the Camry, police said.
Officers discovered Escobar’s body after responding to reports of shots fired in the area.
Homicide detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Foothill Division were trying Sunday to find witnesses and establish a motive for the shooting.
