Nationwide Health Properties Sees Slump in Fourth-Quarter Net Income

Nationwide Health Properties Inc., a Newport Beach real-estate-investment trust that invests in health-care facilities, posted fourth-quarter net income of $15.7 million, or 34 cents a share, down 3% from the $16.2 million, or 35 cents a share, for the year-earlier period. Revenue increased 2% to $42.9 million. For the year, net income rose to $63.5 million, or $1.37 a share, from $63.1 million, or $1.37 a share, for 1999. The net income for 2000 included a $1.1-million gain from the sale of facilities, while 1999 net income included a $335,000 loss on the sale of facilities. Revenue advanced 5% to $171.4 million.
