Agoura and Thousand Oaks, two teams sitting atop a tight Marmonte League pack, will meet tonight in a game at Thousand Oaks that will give the winner sole possession of first place.
Agoura (17-3, 6-1), the No. 4-ranked team in the region by The Times, defeated No. 2 Thousand Oaks, 60-55, on Jan. 3 after trailing, 36-27, midway through the third quarter.
“It’s going to be a great game,” said Adam Allegro, Agoura’s leading scorer at 15.3 points a game. “I don’t think either one of us played real well in that first game, but I think we’ve both gotten into a groove in league play.”
Kyle Kegley of Thousand Oaks (15-4, 5-1) was held to one point in the fourth quarter of the Lancers’ loss to Agoura, but the All-Ventura County selection is averaging 21.7 points for a team that has won six consecutive games since.
