SEASON AT A GLANCE: Cooper, a 5-foot-9 swing player, has started since her freshman season and improved every year. This season, she is averaging 20.2 points, five rebounds and 3.2 steals and has led the Pioneers (17-6, 6-3) to second place in the Marmonte League.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: She became the fourth Simi Valley girls’ player to surpass 1,000 points in her career when she had 23 on Friday night in a 61-31 Marmonte League victory over Westlake. Cooper, who had 19 points on Wednesday night against Moorpark, has 1,020 points and is on pace to break the school record of 1,459 set by her sister, Tawnee.
