The Board of Trustees of the South Orange County Community College District unanimously approved $316,000 to fund Irvine Valley College’s new baseball facility, giving the program the $616,000 it needed to construct a baseball field on campus.
The facility will be one of only a handful of college fields with built-in drainage for both the infield and outfield, according to Nelson Cayabyab, Director of Facilities and Maintenance. Plans include bleachers and a berm for an elevated view of the playing field.
