Univision Communications Inc., owner of the top Spanish-language television network in the U.S., said it had record ratings in June among viewers aged 18 to 49, a group especially valued by advertisers. Univision’s June prime-time ratings rose 15% among adults 18 to 49 from a year earlier. The network had an 83% market share among Latino viewers in June, Univision said in a statement, citing figures from Nielsen Media Research. In March, the U.S. Census said the Latino population increased about 60% to 35.3 million last year from a decade earlier. Univision said in May it plans to start a second TV network to gain a bigger share in the growing Latino audience.
