Liberty Wins; Catchings Out

None of the news was good for the Indiana Fever Monday.
Their first-round draft pick, Tamika Catchings, underwent surgery again in Indianapolis after re-injuring her right knee. In New York, the Fever lost, 72-65, to the Liberty.
Catchings, the No. 3 overall pick of this year’s WNBA draft, will probably be out for the season after injuring her right knee in a Fever practice July 5 at Houston. She was already rehabbing a knee injury she suffered during her senior season at Tennessee.
At Madison Square Garden, Tari Phillips scored 20 points to help the Liberty (13-5)--which lost Vickie Johnson (hamstring) and Crystal Robinson (ankle) to injuries--hold off the Fever (5-11).
