Hall, Demus Named Athletes of the Year

Ryan Hall of Big Bear High and Lashinda Demus of Long Beach Wilson were named state high school boys’ and girls’ track and field athletes of the year by Scholastic Coach & Athletic Director magazine.

Hall set the state record in the 1,600 meters last spring, 4 minutes 2.45 seconds. Demus set a national record in the 300 hurdles, 39.98. She also was state champion in the 100- and 300-meter hurdles.
