A Marine at Camp Pendleton was arrested after police allegedly found him in a motel with a 1-pound block of C-4 plastic explosives apparently smuggled off the military base.
David T. Holden, 18, was taken into custody early Saturday after police said he and three other Marines were found with the C-4 and a small amount of drugs in a room at the Beachwood Motel.
Marines use C-4 during training exercises but are prohibited from taking it off the base. It is sought by terrorist groups on the black market.
