Child Crushed to Death by Backing Vehicle

An 18-month-old Saugus girl was crushed to death Sunday when her father accidentally ran over her in their driveway, authorities said.
McKenna Mesecher was playing in the frontyard of the home in the 20000 block of Mariam Place when her father, Rob Mesecher, began backing his Ford Explorer, said Lt. Scott Young of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Santa Clarita station.
The father didn’t see the child wander into his path, Young said.
