Council May Establish Bus Line to Zuma Beach

City Council members are expected to vote tonight to establish summertime bus service to Zuma Beach.
“We were looking for ways to give younger people something constructive to do during the summer,” said Mary Lindley, the city’s director of community services.
Passengers would pay $1 each way. Even so, the city would have to spend as much as $10,000 to subsidize the service. That money would come from public transportation funds allocated by the state.
If approved, the bus would begin running later this month on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with one drop-off in the morning and one pickup in the afternoon.
