A Los Angeles man was arrested in Simi Valley on suspicion of attempted murder after he allegedly fired a volley of shots from a handgun at his estranged wife before his 17-year-old son wrestled the weapon away, authorities said.
Razmik Ayrassian, 59, was taken into custody Thursday night shortly after officers arrived at the home of his estranged wife in the 2000 block of Latham Street, Simi Valley Police Sgt. Bob Gardner said. No one was injured.
Witnesses told police that Ayrassian arrived at the house and began arguing with his wife, Luiza Ayrassian. He left and returned a short time later with a semiautomatic handgun and began firing into the house from the yard, Gardner said.
The man’s wife, 17-year-old son and a family friend tried to flee through the garage. He followed them and continued firing, authorities said.
The son was able to pull the gun away from his father, leave the garage and wait for police, Gardner said.
