Santa Monica Gateway Signs 1st Tenant

Despite the Westside’s strong real estate rebound from the early-1990s recession, one highly visible office building has never been occupied because construction was halted as it neared completion in the mid-1980s--until now, that is.
Spieker Properties, which bought the nine-story San Diego Freeway-front tower about 18 months ago and finished it with modern touches, has signed a deal bringing the first tenant to Santa Monica Gateway. The green-and-black building at 11175 Santa Monica Blvd. will be home to real estate company Molasky & Cassidy, which will relocate from Beverly Hills.
The firm leased about 1,100 square feet on the fourth floor for five years. Spieker, soon to merge into Equity Office Properties, has built several suites in anticipation of demand from small tenants. Brad Berton
