Downey Calvary Chapel 66, Kilpatrick 53--Keilon Fortune, who made only six of 31 shots, tied the score with a layup and free throw with 4:10 to play, but the Mustangs did not score again and lost in the boys’ section championship at The Pond in Anaheim.
“I tried to keep shooting until my shot came around but it wouldn’t fall for me,” said Fortune, who made one of 14 three-point shots. “Every time I tried to shoot they were right in my face.”
Tim Drisdom had 26 points and 10 assists for the second-seeded Grizzlies (27-4). Cameron Grider and Anthony Robinson rotated guarding Fortune, who was averaging 36.7 points.
