The Orange County Performing Arts Center will receive a $1-million boost from Milan Panic of ICN Pharmaceuticals Inc. Panic has pledged his contribution toward the center’s $200-million expansion that will include a concert hall and a new plaza.
The gift was announced Thursday during a business partners breakfast with center representatives. Panic is founder and chief executive officer of Costa Mesa-based ICN. Center and ICN officials said details of the pledge were pending; they were uncertain whether the gift was from Panic or the corporation. ICN has sponsored performances at the center within the last year, including the Bolshoi Ballet, and sopranos Denyce Graves and Kathleen Battle.
