Birmingham 13, El Camino Real 1--Patrick Roark (1-0) allowed six hits and struck out three for the Patriots in a West Valley League opener that was called after five innings because of the 10-run rule at El Camino Real.
Luis Parra had two hits, two runs batted in and scored twice for Birmingham (5-3).
Chaminade 9, Notre Dame 0--Sean Clark (1-1) allowed two hits and struck out 11 in 6 2/3 innings, and Cody Haerther drove in four runs for the Eagles in a Mission League game at Notre Dame.
Bobby Paschal and Jim Milkovich each had two hits and scored two runs for Chaminade (5-2, 2-0).
Village Christian 3, Oak Park 0--Danny Bowman (4-0) pitched a one-hitter with 11 strikeouts for the Crusaders at Village Christian.
Camarillo 15, Hueneme 8--Delmon Young hit two two-run home runs for the Scorpions in a Pacific View League victory at Hueneme.
Brad Boyer had three hits for Camarillo (7-2, 3-0).
St. Francis 11, Crespi 10--Scott Solomon had four hits and the Golden Knights (4-3, 1-2) scored five runs in the fifth inning of a Mission League game at Valley College.
Chris Gallo had three hits and three RBIs for Crespi (5-3, 2-1).
COLLEGE BASEBALL
Glendale 5, Citrus 4--Jon Horwitz’s fielder’s choice with one out in the fifth drove in the winning run and the Vaqueros (16-3, 7-2) moved into a tie for first place with Citrus (15-4, 7-2) in the Western State Conference Southern Division at Glendale.
Fernando Valenzuela Jr. hit a fourth-inning grand slam.
BOYS’ GOLF
Arcadia 182, Crescenta Valley 190--Freshman Paul Young shot a three-under-par 33, but the Falcons (5-4, 3-2) lost a Pacific League match at Santa Anita Golf Course in Arcadia.
