Wilbert Garrick, a former Ventura resident, died Tuesday at his home in Stanton. He was 98.
Garrick, who lived in Ventura for more than 37 years, was born March 27, 1903, in Chicago.
He moved to Ventura in 1947 and owned a welding and industrial supply company for many years on Ventura Avenue. He also served on the Ventura Port District Commission during the 1970s.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen, in 1998 and daughter Roberta Yelinek in 1991.
He is survived by daughter Gretchen Winfrey of Mojave; son-in-law Bruce Yelinek of Fresno; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services are scheduled at 11 a.m. Friday at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park in Ventura.
Arrangements are under the direction of Ted Mayr Funeral Home in Ventura.
