Two women were arrested after police reportedly saw them change places in a car to help one of them avoid being taken into custody for drunk driving.
Both women failed blood-alcohol tests after their arrests early Saturday morning, Oxnard Police Cmdr. Tom Chronister said.
Christina Simentel, 28, of Oxnard and Michelle Ann Palomino, 25, of Ventura were booked on suspicion of drunk driving.
The women apparently made the switch, Chronister said, after they saw the flashing lights of a patrol car at a traffic stop.
