Fullerton Advances to State

Andee Lindgren allowed two hits and struck out seven Sunday as Fullerton advanced to the state softball championships with a 2-1 victory over Ventura at Fullerton College.
Colleen Burdick was two for three and drove in both runs for Fullerton (35-9-1), which will play Sacramento (38-8-1) in the first round on Friday in Fresno.
In another regional championship:
Santa Ana 6-5, Chaffey 2-0--Santa Ana scored four runs in the top of the 10th inning to force a second game in the double-elimination tournament. In the second game, Marie Caballero pitched a three-hitter and Sharmaine Kendrick homered as the Dons (37-12-1) cruised to a 5-0 victory and advanced to play West Valley (42-4) in the state tournament on Friday.
In the semifinals:
Ventura 3, Cypress 1--Lolani Alvarez and Clarissa Parga each had two hits for Cypress (30-17), which led, 1-0, until Ventura scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth. Pitcher Mikki Greenwood (22-11), who gave up three runs and three hits in five innings, took the loss for Cypress, which outhit Ventura, 10-4.
