Two suspected bank robbers were in custody Saturday after a holdup attempt at a Washington Mutual Bank in Valencia, authorities said.
Dishion Demetrious Phillips, 23, and Steven Amir White, 24, were booked on bank robbery and assault charges, authorities said. A third man, believed to have driven the getaway car, was still at large.
Two men entered the bank shortly before 11 a.m., knocked down the bank guard, then jumped the counter and fled with an undetermined amount of cash, according to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department.
Phillips and White were arrested after a brief police chase.
