Roosevelt 12, Granada Hills 9--The Roughriders (23-8-1) had 18 hits at Granada Hills, including a three-run home run by pitcher Francisco Figueroa (6-2), and advanced to the semifinals for the second consecutive season.
Granada Hills (20-10) rallied for five runs in the seventh. Erik Hagstrom led off with a home run and Brendon Bartholomew had a three-run triple.
The Highlanders took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a two-run home run by Ryan Braun. Roosevelt scored a run in the second and took a permanent lead on Figueroa’s blast in the third.
Roosevelt extended the lead to 10-2 with a run in the fourth and a five-run fifth.
John Beal (3-5) of Granada Hills allowed seven hits in 2 1/3 innings. He was replaced two batters after Figueroa’s homer.
Roosevelt, seeded No. 15, will play No. 6 Poly on Thursday.
