Air Force Helps Replace 100 Reservation Homes

The Air Force is donating 100 homes to a nonprofit group to replace mold-infested housing on an Native American reservation in north-central North Dakota.
Walking Shield American Indian Society hopes to set up 50 homes at the Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation before Dec. 25.
The Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa estimates that at least 220 of the federally subsidized homes are infested and must be destroyed.
Reports have found high numbers of toxic molds, which can cause skin rashes, inflame the respiratory tract and suppress the immune system.
