Taft 43, Chatsworth 42--A 77-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Cary Dove to Steve Smith capped a two-play drive with less than three minutes remaining to give the Toreadors the West Valley League victory at home.

After Taft’s last scoring drive, Chatsworth (5-1, 1-1) fumbled the kickoff and Taft (4-2, 1-1) held on for the victory.

The Chancellors (5-1, 1-1) looked like they were en route to victory when Jo Shumpert scored on a one-yard run to put Chatsworth ahead, 42-35.

Shumpert tied the score for Chatsworth at 35-35 in the fourth quarter on a 42-yard pass from Jason Moss.
