Barry Simon (Letters, Aug. 26) was right to criticize a homophobic letter but wrong to criticize you for printing it. You don’t deal with bigotry by pretending it doesn’t exist. Better to publish the offensive missive and then give right-thinking people the opportunity to comment on it.
