A Fitting Memorial for ‘Chava’ Uribe
Re “Recalling a Life of Honor and Strength,” Aug. 24:
A big part of Orange County died when Salvador “Chava” Uribe lost his life in a heroic but tragic drowning. Hopefully, the memory of Chava’s happy and productive life will provide guidelines for intelligent preservation of much of his beloved ranchland. Future Orange County residents should be able to enjoy the hills, canyons and woodlands as he did and learn to respect the natural wonders of our small but important county. Farewell to Chava, our last vaquero. We will always remember you.
