Undefeated Matchup Features Father and Son
- Share via
Not only will today’s Mission Conference football opener between Cerritos and Fullerton colleges be a battle between undefeated teams, but it also will pit father against son at 1 p.m. at Cal State Fullerton.
Frank Mazzotta, in his 24th season as head coach of second-ranked Cerritos (1-0) and also the team’s offensive coordinator, will match wits with his son, Frank, defensive coordinator for eighth-ranked Fullerton (2-0).
Cerritos, looking to capitalize on the momentum gained by defeating Bakersfield, 21-19, in Week 1, instead had a bye last week when College of the Canyons canceled the game.
Fullerton opened with a 21-0 victory over Santa Barbara, then defeated West Los Angeles, 31-19.
