Britain to Send Official to Meet With Kadafi

A British government minister will meet with Libyan leader Moammar Kadafi today, launching a new era in relations with the North African state that for years London branded a terrorist pariah.
Mike O’Brien, a junior Foreign Office minister, will fly to the Mediterranean city of Sirte to seek Kadafi’s cooperation in curbing terrorism and halting the spread of weapons of mass destruction.
O’Brien will be the first British minister to visit Libya in nearly two decades.
