Attacker on Bus Ruled Unfit to Stand Trial

A man accused of stabbing a Greyhound bus driver and causing a crash that killed two passengers and injured 51 will likely be sent to a mental hospital.
Arturo Tapia Martinez, 27, isn’t competent to stand trial and needs to be evaluated by mental health officials who will determine if he can understand the court proceedings against him, a judge ruled Wednesday.
Witnesses said Martinez stabbed the driver in the neck with a pair of scissors on Sept. 30 as the bus traveled from Los Angeles toward San Francisco.
